Hope for the Suffering (HFTS) makes a promise that few other world relief organizations can make - every dollar of every contribution goes directly to a suffering child. Money necessary for salaries, office expenses, travel and promotion are raised seperately. That means that money earmarked for a suffering child goes entirely to a suffering child. Not even a penny is redirected for overhead expense.

Our vision

Our vision is also unique. Our goal is to fully support as many suffering children as God will allow. Each year the number of children we support continues to grow. At the present time, we are sending a great deal of support to India, however we also support children in great distress here in the United States.

HFTS in motion

We believe that the Lord uses men and women who are "in motion", actively seeking new opportunities to serve the Lord. Since Hope for the Suffering was founded in 1983, we have been in constant motion. We talk to others who are familiar with the needs of various countries, and occasionally travel to these countries ourselves at our own expense. We contribute money, we write letters, we send supplies, we spend time on the telephone and we pray.

Our promise to you

God has given us a burden for suffering children, but He has also given us the strength and ambition to pursue high goals. My father, Dr. John Edward Rasalam, was a man who cared deeply for the suffering. For many years he worked as a Christian physician in India, treating the poor and needy whether they could pay or not. Like my father, we look to the Lord as we work and pray. To you we make this promise: We will do our utmost to use your gifts in His Service, as we reach out to little ones around the world.
